What makes a Balmy towel
Our premium Turkish cotton is woven with longer fibres, which gives it the perfect balance between absorbency and softness and makes it the best cotton to be used in towels. This unique material also becomes softer, fluffier and more absorbent with successive washings. As if it wasn't perfect enough already, sand doesn't hold on to it and it dries extremely fast.
Comfort is priority for us, this is why we keep our towels super big, but compact: they fit in any bag so you can carry them everywhere with you at anytime. From the classic 100 x 180 cm to the XL 150 x 220 cm, and linen or bamboo blends for those who want something different.
Each towel is hand-loomed by Turkish weavers, with hand-knotted fringes. Tighten them before the first wash: they can come loose on the first cycle.
Frequently asked questions
Does sand stick to a Turkish towel?
No. The towel is woven flat, so sand does not hold on to it and comes off when you shake the towel out. It leaves the beach lighter than it arrived.
Will my towel get softer?
Yes. Each Balmy is hand-loomed in Turkey from long-fibre cotton, and it becomes softer and more absorbent with every wash. It is made to be used, not spared.
How do I wash a Balmy towel?
In cold to medium water, with a gentle detergent, free of bleach and free of fabric softener. That is what preserves the fibres and the absorbency. The dryer is not necessary.
