BALMY, a Quebec brand of Turkish towels, throws and ponchos, has been continuing its story with Saskia Thuot since 2020. Here is its journey.

  1. 201901 · The beginnings

    Four towels and a first order

    The online store opens on February 21, 2019. In March, four towels arrive: RAE, LUNA, SERENA and ZOE. The first order comes in on May 15.

  2. Turkey02 · The craft

    Handwoven on a traditional loom

    Every Balmy piece is handwoven on a traditional loom in Turkey. Long-fibre Turkish cotton becomes softer and more absorbent with every wash.

  3. 202003 · The family grows

    From the beach to the home

    Beach towels were followed by hand towels in 2020, then throws, robes and the MIA poncho in 2022. Linen and bamboo followed in 2023.

  4. 202004 · Love at first sight

    Saskia chooses Balmy

    Balmy was taken over in 2020 by Saskia Thuot, a Quebec television host for more than 25 years.

    Balmy is a love-at-first-sight story. When Raphaëlle, the founder of this wonderful brand, decided to sell it to fulfil her dream of becoming a doctor, I knew right away that I would buy it.

  5. 202505 · The motto

    CHIC. ECO. FUN.

    In fall 2025, the GEORGIE, ELY and MILAN throws join the collection. On their label, as on every other piece, three words are woven next to Saskia's signature.

    At the beach, at yoga, at the spa, at home, to dress your table or wrap your shoulders, Balmy will be with you through the softest and wildest moments of your everyday life.
